Louisiana Economic Development Ready Community
Amite City is one of three areas in Louisiana to be named a Louisiana Economic Development Ready Community. It its tenth year, the Louisiana Development Communities Program guides select communities through the creation and implementation of a strategic plan. They assist communities in creating a blueprint for a more prosperous future. Complete results from the survey are available through the Chamber Office.

The Tangipahoa Parish Economic Development Foundation’s mission is to identify opportunities and lead efforts to attract new jobs and investment, enhance the climate for retention and expansion of existing business, address education and workforce development needs, and provide advocacy for economic development public policy on behalf of all Tangipahoa Parish citizens and businesses.

Louisiana Small Business Development Center
Southeastern Louisiana University Campus

Since 1984, the Louisiana Small Business Development Center (LSBDC) has provided the tools and resources necessary to help businesses grow and compete in an increasingly challenging global economy. The LSBDC offers FREE business consulting and affordable training seminars designed to help small businesses attract customers, improve operations, increase sales, and successfully access capital. The LSBDC interactions may be brief or long-term, but their ultimate objective is to improve Louisiana's economy through job creation and increased tax revenues and with an eye on the Louisiana Governors Vision 2020 Plan. The center is funded by the US Small Business Administration, Louisiana Economic Development, and Southeastern Louisiana University.
